WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU MEET YOUR ‘BOAZ’

If we expect to meet our ‘Boaz,’ we need to make sure we are neat and clean, smell good, and look our best.

Ruth did something to let Boaz know she was interested in him as a husband.

Ruth put on her best clothes to go to a threshing floor.

She cleaned herself up, put on perfume, and put on her best clothes.

We should look our best even when we go to the market –

We just might meet our Boaz at the grocers or gas station.

Ruth was obedient, and submissive to Naomi –

She followed the advice of her mother-in-law.

She approached Boaz quietly when she made her entrance –

She didn’t go to the threshing floor talking or singing loudly.

Ruth was humble but assertive –

She didn’t just say her name when Boaz asked, “Who are you?

She reminded him of his status as her guardian-redeemer.

Because of her godly and noble character, Ruth married the riches man in the area.

Then Boaz announced to the elders and all the people, “Today you are witnesses that I have bought from Naomi all the property of Elimelek, Kilion and Mahlon.  I have also acquired Ruth the Moabite, Mahlon’s widow, as my wife, in order to maintain the name of the dead with his property, so that his name will not disappear from among his family or from his hometown. Today you are witnesses!” Ruth 4:9-10
