“Turn to me and have mercy on me, because I am lonely and hurting….”
“God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid but a spirit of power and love and self-control.” 2nd Timothy 1:7
Zephaniah 3: 17 tell us, “The Lord your God is with you; the mighty One will save you.
He will rejoice over you. You will rest in his love; he will sing and be joyful about you.”
How could any of us feel lonely if we meditated on Zephaniah 3:17 every day?
If an individual is feeling lonely because of issues of fear, insecurity, or abandonment, one should submit and surrender their lives totally to God.
If we believed God’s word, that He is in the midst of us, He loves us and rejoices over us with gladness, there would be no room for loneliness.
We should cry out like King David when the spirit of loneliness attaches to us,
“Turn to me and have mercy on me, because I am lonely and hurting. My troubles have grown larger; free me from my problems.”
Psalm 25:16-17.
Don’t you think God is big enough to free you from your problems, whatever they are?
Once we let Him know that we are hurting and lonely.
I guarantee you we won’t have to worry about being lonely again.
I’ve added a few more scriptures to convince you we should never feel lonely.
John 16: 33: “I told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world you will have trouble, but be brave! I have defeated the world.”
Psalm 68:6: “God gives the lonely a home. He leads prisoners out with joy, but those who turn against God will live in a dry land.
Psalm 62:1-2: “My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”
Matthew 28:20: “Teach them to obey everything that I have taught you, and I will be with you always, even until the end of this age.”
Lonely?
Who can be lonely with all of the help we can get from above.
But we have to “Seek first God’s kingdom and what God wants. Then all your other needs will be met as well.” Matthew 6:33
Men and women, we have to make God priority in our lives. He has to come before ourselves, our mates, our needs, desires, and interests.
If we spend as much time seeking God as we do complaining about being lonely, we will discover the loneliness is gone.
We learn God is with us always.
We realize our souls find rest in Jehovah alone.
We find out Elohim makes a home for the lonely.
Psalm 28:7: “The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him, and he helps me.
I am very happy, and I praise him with my song.”
