My pastor preached a good message on sowing and reaping Sunday. “You sow bitterness, you will reap bitterness; you sow love, you will reap love; you sow money, you will reap a harvest of money. You don’t sow an apple seed and expect to get oranges. You don’t sow a watermelon seed and expect to get cucumbers. You don’t sow a dollar and expect to get a hundred.”
I’ve learned that the more I open my hands to give the more I am blessed in return.
The devil will make it look like we don’t have enough for ourselves and can’t possibly give to help others in need.
After all, we are responsible for the mortgage/rent, utilities, food, clothing, car payment, and miscellaneous expenses.
But we have to sow if we expect to reap a harvest.
That sermon really enlightened me – sow sparingly, reap sparingly; sow generously, reap generously.
I want to reap generously!
I pray God will bless our sowing of tithes, offerings, gifts, skills and talents.I boldly ask God to give me and other sowing saints a one-hundred to a thousand fold return on our seed.
We give of our money, time, gifts, skills, and talents cheerfully and willingly.
