As we proceed toward the end of 2024, having dealt with more challenges, new opportunities, and annoying devils, I thought I’d post a scene from my 2nd edition novel, “BEDEVILED.”
The theme focuses on not listening to the Holy Spirit within, on believing we are doing the godly thing but actually doing what the ‘self’ desires.
From the last chapter –The Wedding Day
After the first month of our marriage, I admitted that I had not married the man God had destined for me. I had made the biggest mistake in my life. I had not listened to and obeyed the Holy Spirit.
Now, I had to sleep in the bed I made for myself. I remembered a saying from an auntie, “If you lie down with a dog, you may rise with fleas.”
Feeling I couldn’t scripturally divorce Scotty simply because the scales had fallen off of my eyes, I determined to stay in the marriage, be a holy and virtuous wife, and pray for God to change Scotty and me into the Godly husband and wife described in the Bible.
Unless God intervened, I was bound in a nefarious marriage for life.
“Hence the marriage to the man I felt was Satan’s son began.”
BEDEVILED is a fictional novel but it points to the fact that God will give us over to our own selfish wills if we continue to ignore His warnings.
“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.”………………………………………….Romans 1:28 (KJV)
