I awoke this morning with lots of negative thoughts about myself and others. I knew right away that I needed an attitude tune-up. The enemy tried to get me to focus on past mistakes I had made and the wrong that I felt had been done to me.

I had to STOP and READJUST my thinking.

The same goes for you when that old devil tries to steal your joy, contentment, happiness, peace, your whatever…he tries to rob you of.

Think positive thoughts rather than negative thoughts.

Focus on things above, where Christ dwells, and not on things of this earth when the enemy is attacking your mind.

I realize there are times when we don’t want to deal with people because of our ‘negative’ attitude. We’d like to stay in our homes, with the doors locked, in our pajamas, and not talk to anyone – in person, on the phone, or electronically.

But we can’t really do that, can we?

Not all of the times, anyway.

At those times our attitude needs adjusting.

We can’t change people but we can change ourselves, with the help of the Holy Spirit. Many times others react to our behaviors and persona so if we’re emitting negative vibes, others may react accordingly.

And we cannot lock ourselves in our homes and avoid people.

I understand, we rationalize that if we stay in the house and avoid people, we won’t say something to offend someone, do something to offend another person, and Lord forbid, do or say something that would be unbecoming as a child of God.

But we’ve got this…We will look at the positive side.

  • We will think good thoughts.
  • We will look toward heaven.

We will do what Philippians 4:8 tells us to do. We will think on things that are lovely, that is true, that is noble, that is right, that is pure, that is admirable—that is excellent or praiseworthy— We will think about such things. (NIV)

Nothing contributes more to cheerfulness than the habit of looking at the good side of things._____________________William B. Ullathorne
